WORLD-CLASS TRAINING LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM 1:1 COACHING

Macros in Avolites automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflow, and improve efficiency by allowing multiple actions to be executed with a single button press. While Avolites includes a wide range of built-in macros, users can also create their own to fit specific needs.

Using Built-in Macros

Avolites provides a macro library with pre-built options for common tasks, such as:

Lamp On/Lamp Off – Powers on or off discharge fixtures without needing to access individual fixture menus.

Fixture Selection Macros – Quickly selects groups of fixtures based on predefined criteria.

Executor-Based Macros – Assigns macros to executor buttons or faders for quick access.

Macros can be placed in a macros view window or assigned to physical buttons for fast execution during a service.

Creating Custom Macros

For specialized tasks, macros can be recorded manually by capturing a sequence of keystrokes:

1. Press Record, then select Macro to begin recording.

2. Perform the desired actions (e.g., selecting specific fixtures, setting attributes).

3. Press Macro again to save.

Custom macros can be set to execute at full speed (instantly performing all actions) or real-time (following the exact timing of the original recording). This allows for precise automation of time-sensitive tasks.

Expanding Workflow with Macros

Macros can be used to automate fixture selection, execute complex programming sequences, and simplify live operation. By integrating them into a show file, lighting operators can execute complex looks or backstage processes with minimal effort, reducing errors and increasing efficiency.
