Layout views turn your fixture selection into a visual workspace. Think of it like a digital magic sheet—customizable, color-coded, and interactive. It’s one of the most useful tools for operators who want quick, touch-friendly control over fixtures, presets, and sequences in one place.
Building a Layout View
A layout view starts with two components:
Layout Viewer: The visual grid where your fixtures or objects live.
Layout Pool: Where multiple layout views are stored and recalled.
You assign objects to a layout using the Assign syntax or by tapping Assign, selecting the object (like a group), and tapping the layout.
Fixtures will reflect the structure of your selection grid—so if you’re using gridded groups, layout views get built even faster.
Arranging Fixtures Visually
Use Setup Mode to:
Move fixtures using position encoders
Adjust width, height, and scale to create space or cluster lights
Apply arrangement patterns (Line, Grid, Circle, Camera)
You can also:
Manually drag fixtures around
Snap them to a grid
Stack rows/columns for quick overviews of truss setups or zones
Visual Customization
In the Edit Layout menu, you can:
Toggle borders on fixtures for clarity
Assign colors to distinguish fixture types
Enable value visibility to see dimmer levels live on the layout
Change layout element defaults so all new objects load with the look you want
All of this helps operators quickly identify fixture states and access the right control with minimal digging.
Why It Matters for Churches
Layout views speed up volunteer operation, simplify training, and let you build repeatable, visual workflows. Whether it’s a focused control grid for key lighting or an all-fixture view for a worship set, having the right layout helps everyone stay on the same page.
