Sequences and Executors in GrandMA3

101 Lighting Lighting Console Configuration, Lighting Programming

Description

Sequences are how you bring cues to life in GrandMA3. Think of them as cue lists that live in pools and control the flow of your lighting moments. Whether it’s a worship song, sermon lighting, or an altar call moment, sequences let you group and trigger those cues with structure and flexibility.

What Is a Sequence?

A sequence contains a list of cues and is stored in the sequence pool. You can have up to 9,999 sequences in a show file, each one with its own purpose—songs, service sections, or lighting looks.

You can draw the sequence pool and sequence sheet into your view layout to quickly navigate and organize your programming.

Assigning to Executors

To control a sequence live, assign it to an executor fader or button:

  • Swipe → Assign → Tap an executor

  • Use the Assign Menu to customize fader width, height, and button behavior

You can set different keys for each executor:

  • Go+ / Go– for moving forward or backward through cues

  • Off, Pause, or even assign speed controls for phasers

Playback View and Programming Efficiency

If you’re on a single-screen setup like a command wing, use the Playback View to monitor and interact with your executor layout directly. Maximize your screen by turning off the title bar and virtual executors you don’t need.

Save your layout as a custom “Sequence” view so you always have quick access.

Pages for More Flexibility

Pages give you more space to assign executors without overwriting anything:

  • One page per song or service segment

  • Flip through pages with Page+/Page– buttons

  • Long-press Page– to return to Page 1

Each page acts like its own set of faders and buttons—helpful for organizing transitions, effects, or one-off moments you want available but not cluttering your main view.

Sequence Settings

Tap the Settings icon in the sequence title bar (or access via Assign Menu) to fine-tune:

  • Tracking behavior

  • Priority levels

  • Move in Black

  • Command triggers

Press Help while in this menu to bring up the manual for explanations of each setting.
