More in MxU
Master the basics of serving by focusing on details and persistence in routine tasks to create a strong base. Doing so will help to create a more creative and impactful environment to ensure smooth, error-free services.
Mastering the Basics
High-quality services in the local church come from attention to detail and mastering the basics. Everything stems from doing the small things well.
- Clean Stage: Ensure the stage is free from clutter and distractions.
- Accurate Documentation: Keep show flow sheets and input lists up-to-date.
- Clean up backstage: Organize mic cables and throw out trash.
Unseen Efforts
Much of the work done as a member of the production team will go unnoticed by the congregation. But, remember that everything you do is crucial for a seamless service. Perfect production is often expected as when production teams are noticed, it means something has most likely gone wrong.
- Routine Checks: Perform line checks, verify lighting cues, and prepare thoroughly before your services.
Long-Term Benefits
Knowing the fundamentals helps during troubleshooting. Proper labeling and organization make problem-solving more efficient and effective. Troubleshooting is easier and quicker with well-labeled and organized equipment.
