Effects aren’t just for vocals. They can be very important to our band inputs and can change the outcome of our mix instantly. Jeff walks us through an example on drums using Waves plugins.

- Being mindful of how our live rooms might already be adding “reverb” to our mix is essential.
- A longer reverb on Snare drum alone can really help to put the drums into a space that otherwise would feel pretty dry.
- A shorter reverb time on Snare drum alone can put the kit into a smaller space, which may be more like the room the drums are actually in.
- We can apply this same idea to other instruments in the band. Instruments like Piano and Acoustic guitar that can sometimes feel “dry” will benefit greatly from just a little bit of reverb!
