Description
dLive has comprehensive routing features and mixing techniques available. Michael walks through building mixes for the main outputs, creating and routing groups, using effects sends, and managing monitor mixes. This includes both wedges and in-ear monitors. He also touches on advanced features like using the external input source for monitoring and saving mix configurations for easy recall.
Building and Routing Mixes
Build a mix for your left-right or main outputs by using the main fader. Check the mix you're on by looking at the top-right of your screen and using the "assign" function to route channels to the desired bus or group.
Creating and Routing Groups
Michael shows how to create and manage groups, such as a drum group. Channels are assigned to groups, and groups are then routed to the main output. The routing tab offers a quick way to see where each channel is being sent.
Aux Sends and Effects
Aux sends can be configured as pre or post-fader, depending on whether they should follow the main fader levels or operate independently. Michael also covers sending channels to effects and the use of "sends on fader" mode for efficient mixing.
Monitor Mixes
The console allows detailed control over monitor mixes, including the ability to route specific channels to wedges or in-ear monitors (IEMs). Michael explains how to differentiate between what is heard in the wedges versus the IEMs.
