- The Luminance key may be called different things depending on the switcher you are using (Luma key, Luminance key, Self key to name a few). However, they all do the same thing, taking the video signal and picking a luminance value to key out.
- You can key out the dark or light parts of an image. The luma value can be adjusted by using the gain and clip settings.
- If you are using the Ross Carbonite Switcher and are in Live Assist, press the Select Key to navigate to the luminance key settings.
Pro Tip: Adding a shadow to your text in Propresenter will help it pop off the screen when using the luminance key. This trick will work with any color shadow, except black. You do not want to use a black shadow because it will not be visible when keying out black.
