Public Address Systems (PAs)
Description
There are common concerns when it comes to going online with systems in R1. Zach Brady addresses those concerns and clarifies what actually happens when users go online with their systems.
Key Points:
- It’s important to understand the online button in R1, which is meant to establish a connection between the software and the sound system’s components, such as amps and loudspeakers.
- When going online, R1 searches for and recognizes devices based on their IDs. The software then pushes important data to the devices, including output mode, device name, channel names, and speaker type.
- A key aspect of going online is the configuration of speaker types. R1 automatically loads the correct speaker preset and settings once the connection is established.
- System parameters like output level, delay, mute status, input routing, and EQ are pulled away from the amps, ensuring that essential settings are accurately reflected in the software.
- Going online with R1 poses no risk of accidentally changing crucial system settings like EQ or delay times, as these are retrieved from the amps.
- In case of a network connection loss, the amps continue to function normally, maintaining all their settings, thereby ensuring continuous system operation.
- Using the ArrayCalc snapshot feature when designing a system allows you to integrate pre-designed work into the amps.
