The multi quick picker in Vista is used for storing and recalling groups, presets, and other settings. Tony explains how to create groups, position presets, color presets, and beam presets. He demonstrates how these presets can be used to quickly adjust lighting configurations.

Multi Quick Picker

This is a flexible tool in Vista's fixture chooser, designed to enhance efficiency by storing and recalling various lighting configurations.
  • Location and Functionality: Found at the bottom of the fixture chooser, the multi quick picker consists of pools for storing items like groups and presets.
  • Versatility: It can store different types of items such as groups, presets, colors, extracts, favorites, snapshots, and effects masters.

Creating and Using Groups

Groups are essential for managing and organizing fixtures effectively.
  • Group Creation: Select fixtures, set the multi quick picker to "Show Groups," right-click, and choose "Create New Group" to name and save the group.
  • Selection Order: The order in which fixtures are selected is stored in the group and is indicated by a blue bubble to the left of the icon.

Position Preset Creation

Position presets enable quick adjustments to fixture orientation.
  • Creating Position Presets: Use the multi quick picker to save specific fixture positions, using next and previous controls to fine-tune focus.
  • Storing Presets: Right-click within the presets and position dropdowns to create new presets, ensuring quick recall of saved positions.

Color Preset Management

Color presets simplify color changes across multiple fixtures.
  • Creating Color Presets: Select desired colors, right-click in the color section, and create new presets with options for global or fixture-specific application.
  • Global vs. Fixture Type Values: Global presets apply across all fixture types, while fixture type values are specific to selected fixtures.

Beam Preset Configuration

Beam presets allow for rapid adjustments of beam properties.
  • Beam Section Presets: Store presets for iris, frost, focus, and zoom settings.
  • Avoid Unwanted Storage: Be cautious to store only intended information in beam presets to prevent accidental changes.
