Thrive Worship Ableton Session Overview
201
Worship
Tracks & Loops, Ableton, Music Directing
Description
Jace gives an overview of how tracks are run at Bayside Church for Thrive Worship. He explains how they do this with Ableton Live, specifically in session view. He covers everything from the setup of various channels to the use of key commands to streamline the operator’s processes.
Ableton Live for Tracks
Ableton is a versatile tool for managing live tracks, offering different views and customization options to fit your workflow. Bayside & Thrive Worship use session view for track setup and management.
Flexibility with Song Rotations
The master session includes a variety of songs ready to be played at any time, allowing for flexibility during live worship sessions. This setup means songs can be quickly accessed without loading new tracks.
Utilizing Key Commands
Key commands in Ableton Live can be used for numerous different tasks. Bayside & Thrive Worship use key commands to assign songs to specific keys for quick access during a service. Here’s a quick overview:
- Command + K: Turns on key command mode.
- Assigning Songs: Each song should be assigned a number key for easy switching (e.g. Battle Belongs to key 1)
- Executing Commands: Press the assigned key to start the song, which can be stopped with the spacebar.
