Color Mixing Fixtures

Color mixing fixtures are very common in most churches these days, but the technology inside of them varies greatly depending on price and age! The DC Pro team talk through differences in modern color mixing lights in general, and talk about what to spend your money on and why.

Key Points:
  • If you have Color wheel fixtures, it’s good to try to plan colors for scenes based off what the next color is. For example, if the wheel is red, green, blue, then yellow, it will be better transition wise to move from green to blue, rather than from red to blue.
  • A way to avoid distracting color transitions in your fixtures is to turn the dimmer all the way off, then change the color inside the fixture before turning them back on again.
