Views and Gestures in GrandMA3
Description
Views are the foundation of a smooth GrandMA3 workflow. Whether you're operating a full console or working onPC with limited screen space, custom views help you organize your programming environment so you can get to the tools you need—fast.
Adding and Arranging Views
Start with a blank screen and tap anywhere to open the Add New Window pop-up. From there, you can explore:
Common: Fixture Sheet, Sequence Sheet, etc.
Data Pools: Macros, Sequences, Layouts (everything except Presets).
Presets: Dedicated tab for selective/global/universal preset pools.
Tools & More: Access editors, timecode viewer, and other utilities.
All Tab: Search everything in one place.
Drag windows around the screen or lasso-draw them to fit specific regions for more precision.
Storing and Recalling Views
After building a screen layout, hit Store and tap a view button to save it. You can include multiple screens in a single view by selecting them in the store menu. Just remember: views are like screenshots—they capture your current settings, not a live tab.
Maintaining Display Settings
If you tweak display settings (e.g., layer toolbar, readout mode, or preset naming), make sure to store over the view again. Otherwise, those preferences won’t be saved when you recall the view later.
Touch Gestures and Navigation
Two-Finger Scroll: Move through pools and sheets.
Swipe Down: Opens contextual menu on any pool object—move, copy, delete, etc.
Two-Finger Edit: Quickly open naming/edit dialogs in sheets.
Pinch to Zoom: Especially helpful in the selection grid.
Three-Finger Scroll: Used when a view exceeds screen height—configure display height to enable this.
These gestures make navigating and editing views much faster, especially on touch-enabled consoles or when using an external monitor with onPC.
