Making Singing Feel Easy

101 Worship Lead Vocals, Background Vocals, Worship Leading

Description

Singing often feels hard because of hidden tension, not lack of ability. The most common problem areas are the tongue, jaw, and neck—all of which can tighten without you realizing and make singing much harder than it needs to be.

Tension in the neck or tongue can pull the voice out of alignment. Gently stretching the tongue with a microfiber cloth can work wonders with releasing tension that might have built up.

Once tension starts to release, singing feels easier, higher notes become more accessible, and vocal fatigue decreases. Paying attention to what your body is doing while you sing is the first step to finding more freedom in your voice.
