GrandMA3 Ecosystem Overview
Description
Getting Started with the Software
The GrandMA3 software is completely free to download and install: GrandMA3 Download Page
Although the software runs independently, it requires licensed hardware (like a command wing or onPC node) to output DMX signals.
If you’re building your own system and using a personal computer, make sure your setup meets the performance specs outlined here: GrandMA3 System Requirements
Understanding Parameters
Parameters determine how many universes you can output to your fixtures. The more complex your rig, the more parameters you'll need. A dedicated explainer on parameters is available here.
GrandMA3 Hardware
GrandMA3 offers multiple form factors to match various production needs and budgets:
onPC Command Wing: A compact programming surface that plugs into a Windows or Mac computer. Acts like a console without built-in processing.
Command Wing XT: Includes a built-in Windows computer—just add a monitor and you're ready to go.
onPC Nodes vs. Regular Nodes: Only onPC nodes enable parameters to run the software with DMX output.
Consoles: Full hardware desks available in various sizes—from compact to full-size—each offering different parameter capacities.
