DVE (Digital Video Effects) are what we use to manipulate a video source. Any kind of manipulation of the original video source uses DVE.

- All Video Switcher consoles have a limit to how many DVEs you can use. The reason for this is that DVEs are extremely processor heavy.
- A common use case for DVEs is when we see multiple sources on one screen at a time. Commonly this is used by news stations and sports channels to show closeups of three different presenters at one time without having a wide camera angle.
