Explore camera placement and angles for effective storytelling in various scenarios.
Key Points:
Types of shots
- Camera placement largely determines the types of shots you can achieve and how well you can convey your intended look.
- Two angles of the main subject, often times your Pastor, helps for more dynamic coverage. For example, one might be a waist-up shot, and another full length.
- The ratio of wide shots to tight shots is incredibly important, but often overlooked.
- Don’t be afraid to include handhelds as an option, the look they produce is well worth the time spent training!
Consider the needs of the room
- When expanding your camera setup, determine the room’s needs for audience interaction and effective viewing.
- Placing a camera in the center of the room, often times near FOH, is a great place to start for a symmetrical view.
